a celebration of the whole community of the school
The ceramic meadow at St Lawrence school was a celebration of the whole community of the school and its connection with the local area.
I wanted the community of the school to create a calm, peaceful space – different from the vibrant, busy classrooms and corridors of the school. I wanted to embrace being outside, and give the kids a sense of influence over this environment.

coastline
tides
Living at the foot of the South Downs, a stone's throw from the coast, the beauty of the landscape is a constant inspiration.
The edges of these pieces echo the ebb and flow of tide lines, the soft camber of cliffs along the coastline and the undulating hills and fields of the South Downs.
Details of these landscapes are ever changing; different from one moment to the next - tides come and go, seasons change, crops rotate yet the presence of the hills, cliffs, sea is constant - fluidity and solidity side by side.
