a celebration of the whole community of the school
The ceramic meadow at St Lawrence school was a celebration of the whole community of the school and its connection with the local area.
I wanted the community of the school to create a calm, peaceful space – different from the vibrant, busy classrooms and corridors of the school. I wanted to embrace being outside, and give the kids a sense of influence over this environment.

exploring the seen and unseen aspects of ourselves
This series of work explores the connections between the seen and unseen aspects of ourselves (thoughts, behaviour and reactions) and the ever changing boundaries between them. Investigating the threshold of inside/outside, public/private, I explore where and how we draw a line and how this is constantly shifting.
I am interested in how the inside affects the outside (and vice versa) - our thoughts, ideas and memories influencing body language, gesture and movement.
The thrown pieces are double skinned – the inside and outside wall are separate. We are able to see the different movement the inside and outside have, yet there is always space between the two skins that remains hidden.
